El dépete painter and drawer has a BA from the University of Puerto Rico. In 2006 he completed his master\'s degree at the University MFA. Since 1997 has exhibited both individually and collectively in the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Puerto Rico, the U.S. and Japan and has participated in international art fairs. He has also received awards from the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture and Art Critics Association. In his work he uses the themes of human pain, sorrow and suffering using the number 3 as a conceptual basis for its proposal to seek harmony. His work evokes the existential search for the solution of problems through the pursuit of light. The artist Antonio Martorell has cited his work to refer to him as a contemporary self-portrait artist at conferences in museums like the Smithsonian. The President of the Association of Art Critics Hiromi Shiba says that the images of this young artist reflects his vision that looks beyond the individual reality, contextualizing his art within a proposal for universal, as witness of human activity in contemporary society. Moreover, the painter, sculptor and professor as mentor Erick Tabales underpins all elements he uses in his work masterfully combine to overcome academic and viewers to confront a portrait, that is, a character of his expression that weighs more than his creation. His pieces are part of collections such as Reyes Veray and the Honorable Puerto Rico ex Governor Sila M. Calderon and others. |
